Border Rain by AssasinMonkey

There's a great sense of kinetic intensity to this one thanks to the particle effects. One can easily imagine a storm of nearly invisib...

My fridge went out on the Fourth of July, and I didn't notice. So yesterday I poured some milk in my coffee while playing some games with a friend who had stayed the night. It was literally the second day I'd owned that milk. And the fridge was back to running by that point, so I didn't notice anything was wrong.

But ugh, that taste. Should have known then. And all the ice forming on the floor of the fridge should have been a tip-off, too.

Long story short I've been whimpering and shivering in bed for 24 hours, and I still feel like a starving imp that crawled out of a pool of gruel. Meanwhile, everything else in my fridge is in bad shape. Gotta throw it all out.

Very sick. Much groan.

I'll use this time to do the drawings I was supposed to do a month ago. Or maybe die trying. Wouldn't be surprised.

Bring It On - Dom vs UIR Indie by Wisdom-Thumbs
Bring It On - Dom vs UIR Indie
This drawing had wine spilled on it last year, so I abandoned it. But it was so close to completion that I decided to revisit it today. Unfortunately the wine did something to the paper. You can see the effects. Still, I'm happy with how it turned out. Though I wish I could have made the details sharper, especially on the Indie.

(same wine spill that made my Jon Snow drawing look nice, so whatever)

Prepare to get cut!

Old Dema by Wisdom-Thumbs
Old Dema
Based off the greatest NPC companion of all time, a grandmother named Dema from Dwarf Fortress. Her tale was legend. She was mightier than demigod adventurers. And her end was truly, literally amazing.

I'll put it to you this way. She had a little sister named Cero Skullwoman who was 35 years old, who made iron swords for a living, and who wandered the wilds for most of her life on various hunts and adventures. Cero Skullwoman was not half as badass as Dema.

I'm going to make a comic about them.

The First Scout and the Lady Mother by Wisdom-Thumbs
The First Scout and the Lady Mother
When the mighty Ashbane was a burned and dying stablecolt, it was Verdant Cress who dragged him from the fires. Her husband was dead, and her son was a frightened yearling. The Wrothkin filled the forest around them, screaming in the night. But Verdant was as swift on hoof as she was at thought, and, lashing together two polearm axes with some pine boughs, she dragged both Ashbane and her son to safety. The Wrothkin harried them all the way to the nearest broch, a sturdy tower far from the main road where refugees had barricaded the doors. The lord of that place unbarred those doors for Verdant, but in so doing he let in the deer.

Nail Biter still remembers when his mother tore the polearm axes from the litter and decapitated the first Wrothkin to charge the broch. He still remembers the lord of that place taking an arrow between the eyes. He still remembers how everypony present was struck dumb by fear. And he remembers how Ashbane, with burns still seeping, rose like a mountain with the other poleaxe in his hooves. Together, with lochaber and bardiche, Ashbane and Verdant saved Broch Boardwall. It's been many years since that night, and Nail Biter is no longer a colt chewing on his hooves. But though he calls Lord Ashbane "pa," and "father," his adoptive father still sees Nail as another stallion's son.

Nail tries not to let this hurt him. He's a loner after all, more a dark uncle to his half-brothers than one of their own. But in the dark of the woods, hunting and hunted by turns, his doubts still prickle on the back of his neck...

Pendulum Wars - Fire and Retreat! by Wisdom-Thumbs
Pendulum Wars - Fire and Retreat!
I drew this to cool off after several vicious arguments in a row, yesterday. It's not up to snuff, and I barely did any prelim work. It was still fun.

This is supposed to be young Marcus on Irohma Island, shortly before he got lost in the jungle and met Tai. Man, his belt is way too low...

Turns out this plz looks just like me: :iconcrybabyplz:

Hey there, I live on a farm in hot, hot, hot Texas, and in my spare time I'm the embodiment of sloth. We own cows. And tractors. Ugh.

I grew up on Calvin & Hobbes, graduated to Gears of War, found delight in just about everything fictional, and (fair warning) I just so happen to like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I've introduced my kid brother to all of these, and while he thinks Pinkie Pie is just about the funniest thing ever, he much prefers chainsawing his way through Locust hordes. Proud of that kid.

As for what I do, I've been drawing since the day I could hold a pencil. I also write for *BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT*, and at the moment (decade?) I'm working on some fanfiction. One day I hope to start publishing novels and start my own low fantasy webcomic on the side.

Remember that if you don't like what you see, you can always look elsewhere.

Wow! Ok, I'm afraid I mostly just have MLP stuff up right now, but I'm glad to hear I had something to offer in return for how much I learned looking at your stuff.

I'm doing fine! Busy with various things, usually. Right now the rain has hit us so hard that I'm out of work!

I hope you got a boat in case it floods.
Or at least are in a safe spot where it can't get you bad.

Are you still working on your stories?

Indeed I am, if by "working" you mean "hobbling along."

Sorry for the late reply.
